"The proper function of a man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time."
Will Babb A.K.A. LeapfrogWill will have just graduated from The Ohio State University with his degree in Environmental Policy when we set out on the trail. He previously completed the Appalachian Trail (2016) right after graduating high school so he's got a one-up on me... We met through work at Roads Rivers and Trails and learned that we both hike stupid fast during a trip to the Roan Mountains in Tennessee. The PCT will be his second-thru hike and a final hurrah before settling in to full-time employment.
The Trail Name: Will earned his name running up and down the AT, passing veteran hikers and leapfrogging back to his parents, who were determined to stay with him on his first day. All the while, the adventure that awaited was calling him ahead.

What to Know
Q: Why not go straight into work instead of taking this journey?
A: The PCT has been a dream of mine ever since I hiked the AT. These dreams don't go away, so the most sensible thing to do is chase them. Post-college is the easiest time to do this, before work and other obligations push the dream down the road. It's easier to find excuses not to do this than do it, but this is my dream.
Q: What is your thought on how to pack?
A: Comfortably. I'm not counting ounces, and I'll carry what I need to be comfortable.
Q: What will you do after the trail?
A: The easy answer is settle down and work, and travel intermittently. Although, having hiked 2 out of 3 trails in the Triple Crown, you never know what lies ahead...
