Kat Beehler A.K.A Sheriff

I met Kat on my third day on trail (her 4th, the day before I almost gave up in Julian) and we ended up hiking almost 1,700 miles together.  It was a hell of a ride and she had a major impact on my hike and my life after.  She graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2021 and set out to hike the trail.  Unlike me, she hadn't done much backpacking, she didn't have this craving to be outside, she just wanted to challenge herself to see if she could.  This girl kicked some ass out there and was great company in the mountains.

The Trail Name: ​Kat had told her mom she'd check-in when she got to camp the first night, but down in Houzer Creek there's no cell signal and shitty GPS so she said screw it, I already text her a few hours ago.  Next thing you know the Campo Sheriff is walking through camp at 2AM calling her name with 15 other hikers around.  You can guess the rest...
